The End of the Nomad Life - or is it?
June and my return to the world of work are getting closer. I decided to become a contractor which has two big advantages for me. I don’t have put up with the crap of idiotic superiors for too long and get more money on top of that.
There is drawbacks as well though. Once the step into self-employment is made, the unemployment money will stop coming in and I have make ends meet myself. There is hope for more government money though, a so called ‘starter bonus’ for all those people who end their unemployment by becoming self-employed.
It’s not really intended for people with skills that are in high demand (like me) but I’ll still try to get my hands on that funding. Professional help is advisable though and thus I’ll have a tax accountant do the paperwork. I need one close by so I’ll travel south for a first appointment next week.
The funding is not elemental to my plans of becoming a contractor but would make things much easier. Without any funding I will need work soon, can’t be too picky and might have to work in another city. That would be a bummer but it’s not like I’m not used to living out of a backpack.
