Norway is a rich country, made rich by oil. Interestingly, it is now a leading country in renewable energy - good way to invest all that oil money. From what I’ve been told, 80% of all energy in the country comes from non-fossil sources, mostly hydropower. The country is so rich, even the bums are wearing suits. It’s amazing how many electric vehicles are driving in the streets. I wonder where Germany would be in that regard if it hadn’t been held back by it’s automobile lobby for such a long time.

Bygdøy, Vigeland Park and Sognsvann Lake.

Having travelled some 200,000km in the air, it does take something to surprise me aboard an airplane. Norwegian did just that last Friday, when they delivered free and working wifi at cruising altitude. It’s not like they allow video streaming or anything else that would require bandwidth, but it works nicely for a chat above the clouds. Pre-flight, security in Hamburg had taken ridiculousness to another level. I was taken aside for a pat-down after not having taken off my money belt in that new scanner thing.
